In Arabic, the phrase means to carry out a task to seal something, to seal a document.   • Amirul Momineen (as) says:

 

Almighty Allah sent His Holy Prophet when there was no Prophet on earth and there was a time lag between the two and discord between the peoples. By sending him there, he ended his prophetic status and his revelation ended.
