Pawna Lake is a lake created as a result of the Pawna Dam (Pavana Dam). The Pawna Dam is located on the Pawna River in Maval Taluka, about 40 km from Pimpri Chinchwad town. It has a capacity of about 10 TMC. The dam, built between 1963 and 1972, is 1,329 m (4,360 ft) long and 42.37 m (139.0 ft) high, with a storage capacity of 0.24 km3 (0.058 cu mi). The Pawna Dam reservoir created a reservoir, and the Pawna Dam backwaters became known as the Pawna Lake. How to reach 

Proximity to Pawna Lake and tourist sites in Lonavala makes it easy. It is about 20 km from Lonavala railway station. The best option would be to take a bus or boat from Lonavala. There are good routes to reach Pawna Lake from Pune, Lonavala, and Mumbai. The nearby town of Kamshet, on the Mumbai-Pune highway, also offers several transport options to the lake, which is only 35 km away. The nearest train line is in Lonavala, and the train journey to Lonavala is also a scenic one.

Dudhiware Waterfall

Dudhiware Waterfall is a waterfall located near Lonavala in the hamlet of Dudhiware. This waterfall has two colours falling from a rock formation at a height of about 135 feet.  Lonavala, also known as Mawal, is a beautiful hill and fort. Lonavala is also the fort of Lohagad and Visapur. Lohagad is a great fort to visit any time of the year. If you are lucky enough to visit both forts on the same day, Lohagad Fort is connected to Visapur Fort, which is also a great tourist attraction.

Visapur Fort is located above Lohagad Fort and is elevated. These are very easy tours, and even inexperienced travellers should have no problem. There are only stairs in Lohagad, and a little walking is involved; however, a trip to Visapur Fort is a treat for every traveller. If you are lucky enough to visit both forts on the same day, Lohagad Fort is connected to Visapur Fort, which is also a great tourist attraction.

Travel to Tikona Fort

 Tikona, also known as Vitandgad, is the most important hill in Mawal. It is 37.7 km from Lonavala and is close to Kamshet. Tikona means “triangular” because the 3500-foot mountain is pyramidal in shape.

Climbing the fort is famous for its grand entrance, the temple of “Trimbakeshwar Mahadev,” the seven waterfalls, and the Satvahan gorge. The main attraction of the wall is the temple inside the cave, as well as the well. The entrance to the fort was small, with a winding staircase.
