The Worst anime of the year
In a medium oversaturated with content, it’s inevitable that some shows will be bad. This year was no different, and in fact, we saw some real stinkers. Here are the worst anime of the year, according to our writers:
1. “Sword Art Online” – This show was an absolute mess from start to finish, with terrible writing, characters, and overall execution. It was easily the worst show of the year.
2. “Attack on Titan” – Another highly anticipated show that failed to deliver. It was boring, convoluted, and just not very good.
3. “Aldnoah Zero” – A show with so much potential that was wasted on poor writing and direction. It ended up being a complete mess.

With stunning action sequences and an emotional story, this is one WCO Anime that you won’t want to miss.
Attack on Titan – The third and final season of Attack on Titan is set to air in 2020. We all have our favorite that we WCO Animelook forward to each year. For some of us, these are the anticipated sequels to our all-time favorites. For others, they’re the new releases that we’ve been eagerly awaiting. And then there are those times when we’re just plain disappointed.
This year was full of both great and not-so-great anime. While there were plenty of awesome shows, there were also a few that fell short of our expectations. Here are the most disappointing anime of the year:
1) Tokyo Ghoul √A: We were so excited for this sequel to one of our favorite dark and edgy anime. Unfortunately, it was a major letdown. The story was all over the place, the characters were unlikable, and it just didn’t live up to the hype.
2) Sword Art Online II: This show had potential to be really good. But instead, it was just more of the same old Sword Art Online formula that we’ve seen before. It was boring, predictable, and overall just not very enjoyable.
3) Naruto Shippuden: The Fourth Great Ninja War arc was supposedly going to be one of the biggest and best arcs in the series. But instead, it turned out to be a major disappointment. It dragged on forever, was filled with filler episodes, and ultimately just wasn’t worth watching.

In a year full of great woc anime characters, it was tough to choose just one favorite. But after much thought, we’ve decided that our favorite woc anime character of the year is Maki Nishikino from Love Live!.
Maki is a first-year student at Otonokizaka Academy and a member of its school idol group, μ’s. She is a well-rounded individual, excelling in both academics and athletics. However, she has a sharp tongue and is often blunt with her words, leading some to believe that she is cold and unapproachable.
Despite her standoffish nature, Maki is actually a kind and caring person. She is always looking out for her friends and is quick to offer help when needed. She is also fiercely dedicated to her studies, working hard to ensure that she gets top grades.
Maki’s dedication and determination are what make her our favorite woc anime character of the year. She may not be the most outgoing or expressive person, but she has a big heart and an even bigger potential. We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the future!
What is wCO Anime?
Anime has been growing in popularity in recent years, and wCO is a big part of that. wCO stands for “Worldwide Coterie of Otaku,” and it’s a group that’s dedicated to spreading the love of anime around the world.
WCO Anime is a new initiative from wCO that aims to bring the best and worst of this year’s new anime releases to a wider audience. Every month, WCO Anime will be releasing two episodes of an anime series, one good and one bad. They’ll also be writing blog posts about each series, giving their thoughts on what worked and what didn’t.
The first series they’re covering is “A Silent Voice,” which is widely considered to be one of the best anime films of 2016. The second series is “Death Note,” which is often cited as one of the worst anime ever made.
